Understanding accident injuries

THE AUTO ACCIDENT INSIDER · 26 OCT 2026

Symptoms deserve attention

After a head injury, concussion symptoms may appear immediately or hours or days later. CDC describes possible changes in thinking, balance, sleep, and mood. This page cannot diagnose an injury.

Know urgent warning signs

After a head injury, worsening persistent headache, repeated vomiting, seizures, weakness, slurred speech, or difficulty waking require immediate emergency care. Call 911. This is not a complete list; see CDC’s guidance.

Prepare questions about care

Ask what a proposed test or treatment is intended to answer, what alternatives exist, and what follow-up is recommended. Keep your visit summaries and a factual record of symptoms.

Upcoming guides

Separate, source-reviewed guides on neck pain, back pain, whiplash, imaging, and recovery are planned. We do not offer a diagnosis or treatment plan.
